Description

Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse Yellow Gold Ellipse Wristwatch Ref. 3548j Patek Philippe 18k yellow gold ref. 3548J Ellipse wristwatch, Retailed by Beyer, circa 1974 Introduced in 1967, the ref. 3548 was the part of the first generation of Ellipse watches ever made and would later become popularized in the 1970s with the iconic Patek Philippe ad campaign: “The $1700 Trust Fund”. The ref. 3548 was made initially by the case maker Baumgartner and featured the impressively accurate and elegant, ultra-thin caliber 23-300. Made in 18K yellow or white gold, these references introduced the elliptical shape to the Patek Philippe collection, and the ref. 3548 is the truest form of the Ellipse that started it all. This stunning example features the legendary blued gold dial and a Beyer signature.
