Although not a limited edition, Patek Philippe has declared that reference 5370P is highly limited in production. The reason is hidden in the watch’s most unique feature: its black enamel dial, the creation for which is a time-consuming process requiring a high degree of specialization and skill. The use of a black enamel dial is reserved to extremely rare occasion which proves its importance to the firm: decorating the dial are white-gold Breguet numerals, along with a classic railroad minute track on the exterior, furthermore, coated with Superluminova allowing legibility in the dark. To accommodate the small feet of the white-gold Breguet numerals, small holes must then be drilled into the dial, a process that requires great care due to the fragile and brittle nature of enamel. The 41 mm platinum case has the perfect dimension and design to fit the wrist, attract attention but equally remaining low profile. Highly sophisticated and elegant, the subtile elongated lugs slims the watch while the two pushers give symmetry tho the whole structure, broken by the split second one located on the crown. On the mechanical side, the reference 5370 features the manually wound movement CHR 29–535 PS. For this occasion, the brand has developed a system allowing the chronograph and split-second hands to perfectly align and ending it with a spectacular finished. Showcasing a magnificent dial artistry and a lavish movement constructed with sheer perfection, Patek Philippe’s reference 5370 is a resolutely modern watch but with hints of vintage in its design. Discontinued in 2020, it might be considered a technical pinnacle of the company’s watchmaking skills. Request more information
