Description

Iconic and Precious, Nautilus, Automatic Wristwatch in Yellow Gold, With Ceramic White Dial, Reference 3800/1

Lot Description Model: Nautilus Reference: 3800/1 Case Material: Yellow Gold Bracelet Material: Yellow Gold Year: 1990s Movement: Automatic Caliber: 330SC Case N°: 2 982 724 Movement N°: 3 020 251 Dimensions: 37.5 mm Signed: Dial, Movement and Case Although it has been appreciated since its market introduction in 1976, the Nautilus received some criticism for being too large in diameter compared to the standards of the period. So it was that 4 years later Patek Philippe decided to launch a reference of smaller dimensions and more in line with the general tastes: the 3800. In production between 1981 and 2006, the reference 3800 was the mid-size edition of the legendary Patek Philippe Nautilus series. The style and the design remained unchanged, they only changed the dimensions that from the initial 42 mm of the case passed to 37.5, while the two ears at the sides of the case, the integrated bracelet that tapered to the buckle and the iconic smoothened octagonal bezel stayed the same. The present timepiece is most notably cased in yellow gold and displays a white ceramic dial. Preserved in very nice condition, the case shows very deep and sharp hallmarks, with bevels and crisp edges throughout. The caliber is the 330SC with the appreciated quick-set date mechanics and sweep second-hand. Request more information
