Description

Patek Philippe Gondolo 5098P

Launched in 2007 as a contemporary interpretation of an Art Deco-inspired timepiece from 1927, the Patek Philippe Gondolo ref. 5098 is a tonneau-shaped timepiece that features a tasteful level of classy exuberance. Featuring a curved platinum case with an elaborately finished rhodium dial with a hand-guilloched engraving, the ref. 5098P is a beautifully designed timepiece that is flooded with landmarks that celebrate its Art Deco inspiration such as its visible lug screws, thick polished bezel, general tonneau shape and blend of Breguet Arabic numerals and oval-shaped railroad-style minute track. A wonderfully elegant watch, its monochromatic color scheme blends its black dial inscriptions, black pear-shaped hands and a black leather strap with its contrasting silver dial and 18kt white gold case to wonderful effect. Powered by the manual-wind cal. 25-21 REC AIG 2 movement that was developed specifically for the rectangular void in the ref. 5098P's case, it is a truly exclusive timepiece inside and out. Guilloched by hand, the ref. 5098P's dial sports an elaborate pattern that provides an enchanting backdrop for its black-oxidized white gold hands. Designed specifically for the ref. 5098, it is powered by the cal. 25-21 REC AIG 2 which features some beautiful architecture and spectacular finishing.
