This Panerai ‘La Bomba’ Luminor Submersible wristwatch is a stunning piece. It comes with full set including box and empty date card! This is an F series limited to 500 pieces. The production year is believed to be 2003. Panerai made blue dial 087 models for 3 total years, this being the last year. This is the only year with chrome index markers. F and G models have a darker blue dial as well.
A major problem with Tritium watches of this age is corrosion. This particular example has been to Panerai for service where the bezel and hands were replaced with Luminova, and the watch does exhibit some signs of corrosion now. This watch has never been polished and shows the yellow color indexes and the corrosion on the indicators.
The bezel clicks softly and aligns perfectly at 12. The bezel can be moved in both directions due to the click springs being plastic and wearing down. Moving the bezel clockwise will continue to wear down the click spring so I don’t advise doing this. It doesn’t freely spin, but it isn’t a heavy click either! I want to be very clear that it works great but it’s 21 years old, so measure your expectations.
The bezel has marks from 12-3 have no missing paint, they are perfect. Additionally the markers showing 15, 30, and 45 are clear, perfectly aligned and also not missing any paint.
