In 1993 Officine Panerai decided to present a collection consisting of a series of three watches inspired by historic military models, one of which is the Luminor Logo reference 5218-201/TO of which we have an example offered here. The 44 mm case in polished steel is nicely preserved with massive lugs, obtained directly from the case, and a smooth bezel forcibly mounted on the carrure. On the screw back with a special 12-sided wrench, has been engraved and is still visible OFFICINE PANERAI FIRENZE, the reference, the number 0392 to identify the case and the watertight seal at 30 atm. The caliber which animates this watch a hand-wound movement UNITAS 6497 in 16 ½ lines and 17 jewels with “Cotes de Geneve” decoration. The dial is a trademark for Panerai with the bare minimum: a black background, big Arabic numerals and bar indexes milled and filled with a mixture based tritium, massive stick hands and watertight seal at 6 o’clock. It is part of a limited series of 677 pieces and for this reason is therefore a rare piece and really appreciated by all the Panerai lovers.
