Omega Genève Automatic VWS-2452 Here is a fabulous, all original Omega Genève from 1969. The silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition, with a steel Omega logo and faceted steel hour markers with black contrast and lume dots at the outer ends. The steel baton hands have the original lume and are in good condition with visible corrosion. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be quick-set by repeatedly pulling the crown out to outermost position. This should only be done with the hands at the lower half of the dial.
The stainless steel watch case with the original crown and embedded lugs has a brushed face and polished sides. It is in very fine condition, with only light overall wear at both the face and the sides. The stainless steel back has a brushed center and sunburst rim and is in very fine condition with only light wear. It carries the inscription “Waterproof”, which should not be relied upon for a 55 year old watch. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 565 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in January 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
The Genève was in many ways an “entry level” Omega, but they still came with the best movement Omega had and wonderfully finished dials and cases. This a watch loves to be worn and it will serve you well for many years to come.
