Comments In 1957, Omega launched a series of three “Professional” watches – watches that were meant to be dedicated to a specific target group of individuals and professions: Seamaster (professional divers), Speedmaster (professional racecar drivers), and Railmaster (engineers). This specific watch exemplifies the "professional" pedigree of the Railmaster, as revealed by the inscription "PAF" for Pakistan Air Force on both caseback and movement. The military heritage of this watch makes it a special piece, but on top of that, this one is equipped with a soft iron inner caseback, a Faraday cage of sorts to deflect magnetic fields. This Railmaster is in outstanding condition, with full and symmetrical lugs and a mottled chocolate black dial that beautifully complements the orange patina of the hands and indices. The hands and dial have been re-lumed professionally. They sill react to UV light but fade quickly – as it should be. The movement professionally serviced. Everything else stayed untouched and factory original. This is a watch that will give great pleasure while on the wirst. The watch is accompanied by an Extract of the Archives from Omega, which confirms the military heritage of this model and that it was delivered in 1964 to the Pakistani Military. So there is no doubt, that this is an amazing watch.
