Description

1967 Omega Speedmaster Reference 145.012 Why This Watch Matters The reference 145.012 marks the end of an era in the production of the Omega Speedmaster. It was the last example of the original caliber 321 movement, which has been hailed as one of the more important movements used by the brand. The second hand also changed forever after this model, losing the tear-drop shape. The Full Story This is not the first Speedmaster you will see, (and thankfully) nor will it be your last. The 145.012 is a true Professional Speedy with lyre-form lugs, stepped dial, and applied Omega logo. This reference also marks the end of the Caliber 321 era, the historical movement used in all the Speedys up until this watch, when it was replaced with the caliber 861. The watch you see here is a great example of this iconic timepiece, and features the original tall special pushers and original bezel. Note: the case was previously not mentioned as being manufactured by Central Boîtes , as Omega was using for the reference 105.012, with different lugs than the Hughenin Freres cases. Its case back still indicates the reference 145.012, the pushers belong to that reference and the movement number falls into the correct range so we chose to label it as a 145.012 but will update it if it needs to be as soon as we receive the Archives certificate from Omega. This watch is complete with original Dot Over Ninety and the Dot Diagonal 70 bezel, wide and tall pushers. The case is scuffed throughout from regular wear and age. The one thing to note is the lume on the handset is darker than on the indexes, but this is normal for this reference and is not something to be concerned about. Overall a very nice Speedy.
