Omega Seamaster Genève Seamaster Automatic VWS-2564 Here is a stunning, all original Omega Genève Seamaster from 1967. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a golden Omega logo and golden chevron hour markers with black contrast, double at 12 o’clock. There is a scatter of tiny corrosion spots around the dial, none of which are really visible to the naked eye but they make the dial seem to sparkle. The baton hands with the original black contrast are in fine condition with some corrosion visible on the seconds hand under closer scrutiny. The golden framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be quick-set by repeatedly pulling the crown out to the outermost position. This should only be done with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.
The gold plated bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear such as at around 1, 2 and 5 o’clock. The gold plated case with the original crown and subtle batman lugs is in fine condition with light wear mostly at the lugs. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a crisp and clean hippocampus medallion and a few scratches and marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 565 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in May 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
This watch is dressier than most of its siblings, and the wonderful dial makes it really stand out. It is a wonderful watch to have grace your wrist and it will be a watch to pass on to the next generation.
