Description

Omega Constellation “Pie Pan” with Onyx inlay

Omega Constellation “Pie Pan”; gold case on gold dial, baton indices with onyx inlays. Production year in the early 1960s. Runs on Cal 561 chronometer-certified automatic movement, arguably one of the finest movements Omega has ever manufactured; a 24-jewel movement, 19,800 vibrations per hr, bi-directional automatic winding, 48 hrs power reserve. Classic constellation case shape with straight lugs. Closed caseback with cupola of the Geneva Observatory against the backdrop of an 8-star constellation, symbolizing the 8 chronometry records achieved by the series at the Geneva Observatory. A must-have piece for vintage Omega collectors. Note: given CITES restrictions, the currently attached green alligator straps will be removed and replaced by a brand new set of navy blue nubuck leather straps (see separately pictured).
