Marvin est une ancienne marque suisse issue du comptoir horloger fondé en 1850 par les frères Marc and Emmanuel Didisheim à St-Imier. La famille Didisheim est venue depuis la France pour s'établir dans les montagnes jurassiennes.
En 1918 le Comptoir Horloger est l'une des plus importantes manufactures de la Chaux-de-Fonds avec plus de 300 employés. La manufacture fournira même des mouvements pour Rolex, gage de qualité.
En 1941 la famille scelle un partenariat avec un collectionneur américain du nom de Marvin. C'est à ce moment que la marque Marvin apparaît.
De nombreuses célébrités et politiciens ont porté des montres Marvin, dont Marilyn Monroe.
Le marketing de Marvin s'est intéressé tout particulièrement au monde automobile et des partenariats ont été développés avec des compagnies comme Ferrari, Mercedes, Jaguar, MG, Chevrolet etc.. Des pilotes célèbres ont porté la marque: Sterling Moss, Ascari, Fangio. Ce dernier est d'ailleur devenu un proche de la famille et c'est à cette période que la montre "pneu" a été créée.
Marvin s'illustre également par des partenariats avec des sociétés aériennes (KLM, Air France) qui portent la marque sur leurs uniformes.
Durant la crise des années 70s, la marque n'a pas échappé au déclin. C'est en 2002 que Cécile et Jean-Daniel Maye ont repris la marque afin de lui redonner la place qu'elle mérite au sein de l'industrie horlogère. Marvin Co est installée au Château de Vaumarcus, dans le canton de Neuchâtel.
Nous vous présentons ici un Chrono deux compteurs des années 1940 avec un cadran de toute beauté, équipé d’un mouvement Valjoux 22 et d’un diamètre appréciable pour l’époque de 37 mm.
Marvin is an old Swiss brand that grew out of the watchmaking counter founded in 1850 by brothers Marc and Emmanuel Didisheim in St-Imier. The Didisheim family came from France to settle in the Jura mountains.
By 1918, Comptoir Horloger was one of the largest watch manufacturers in La Chaux-de-Fonds, with more than 300 employees. The company even supplied movements for Rolex, a guarantee of quality.
In 1941, the family formed a partnership with an American collector by the name of Marvin. The Marvin brand was born.
Many celebrities and politicians have worn Marvin watches, including Marilyn Monroe.
Marvin's marketing took a particular interest in the automotive world and partnerships were developed with companies such as Ferrari, Mercedes, Jaguar, MG, Chevrolet and others. Famous drivers have carried the brand: Sterling Moss, Ascari, Fangio. Fangio became close to the family and it was during this period that the ‘tyre’ watch was created.

Here we present a two-counter Chrono from the 1940s with a beautiful dial, equipped with a Valjoux 22 movement and a sizeable 37 mm in diameter for the period.
