With the new Ingenieur Automatic 40, IWC revives the daring design of Gérald Genta’s iconic Ingenieur SL from the past generation. Originally created in the seventies, Ingenieur SL, ref: 1832, showcases Genta's vision of a stainless steel luxury sports watch with an integrated bracelet. The new Ingenieur Automatic 40 embraces Genta’s bold aesthetic while meeting the highest standards of ergonomics, finishing, and technology. This model features a case, bezel, and integrated H-link bracelet with a butterfly folding clasp in stainless steel finished with polished and satin surfaces. The ergonomics of the case and bracelet have been thoroughly refined for optimal comfort, even on slender wrists. The 40mm case and newly designed middle-link attachment ensure excellent wearability. The black dial features the distinctive grid pattern with small lines offset by 90 degrees. Inside the case is the IWC-manufactured 32111 calibre, whose pawl winding system provides a 120-hour power reserve. Honoring the Ingenieur’s technical heritage, a soft-iron inner case protects the movement from magnetic fields. The 10-bar water-resistant case and redesigned crown protection make the Ingenieur Automatic 40 a versatile luxury sports watch.
