Acknowledged in 1962 for launching the famed bivouac model which allowed climbers to get both altitude and humidity using a mechanical gauge, Favre Leuba once again came to the forefront by offering the Bathy 50, the first wristwatch featuring a mechanical DEPTH gauge. It was produced in 2 versions: one with a meter indication for the European market and the other was known as the Bathy 160 for the Uk and US market. This particular example has been preserved in exceptional condition showing a close to new case and a mint dial and movement. Less than 600 pieces have been produced between 1967 to 1972 when production ceased to be replaced by Favre-Leuba's pillow shaped model.
