This is the F.p. Journe Chronometer Resonance: the 18th century watchmakers Abraham-Louis Breguet and Antide Jeanvier pioneered the concept of resonance in horology, and Journe, directly influenced by the work of Breguet and Jeanvier, was the first modern watchmaker to develop his own resonance mechanism. In 2000, he introduced the Souscription series, the first watch to apply resonance to a wristwatch, and in 2020, the 20th anniversary of the first Souscription model in platinum, the case has been completely redesigned. The crown is now positioned at 2 o'clock, making it easier to wind the watch and set the time. Pulling the crown at 4 o'clock resets both seconds simultaneously. On the movement side, two "remontoire d'égalité" (constant-force devices) provide linear force to the two balance springs, keeping them isochronous throughout the 28 hours. only one barrel spring is used to power the two movements. A differential attached to the first wheel, visible in the center of the dial, transmits the energy of the barrel spring independently to two second gear trains, each equipped with a one-second frequency remontoire d'égalité. The two unconnected gears move synchronously in opposite directions, and when misalignment occurs, they complement each other to compensate for the error.
