I received this watch in decent running condition in mid-2022, but decided to overhaul last October it since it came without a service history. It currently winds smoothly and quickly, and sets easily with no issues and minimal back play. It maintains decent accuracy, generally within 8 seconds per day. While the crystal has been replaced, everything else on the watch is 100% original. In the time that I've owned it, I sourced a vintage box and Gold-plated Enicar buckle that will be included in the purchase, though I can't say whether they are period correct. While some examples exist of Enicar movements cased by other companies in solid gold, these Enicar-made 18k cases are exceptionally rare. These early Ultrasonics were defined by their distinctive Breguet-style straight-lug cases and cloverleaf logo, so retaining the style in 18k really adds to the unique history and distinctive look of Enicar from this period. Being the highest tier case option, this watch also carries Enicar's brand new in-house AR 1010 movement, which is itself in the highest specification available at the time. Instead of the regular nickel-plated 17 or 21-jewel variants, this example carries a gorgeous gold-plated 25-jewel example. the 35mm case. long lugs, and 19mm lug width also make it unusually large for the period and a perfect size for a modern dress watch. Watch collectors in the know are well-aware of the first-class build quality and in-house movements offered by Enicar at this time, but often struggle to find good examples. This is primarily because most of their cases at this time were chrome-plated and weathered poorly. They are also often redialed and lose their 1960s charm. This watch, however, avoids these issues, as this dial is in fantastic original condition, and the 18k case will never corrode as the plated examples did. While there are some small scratches here and there on the case, There are two main issues worth noting- first are some very mild spotting on the dial, particularly some discoloration between the 1 and 2 hour markers. They are practically invisible from wrist distance, but they are there. Second are two small indents on the back of the caseback above the word SWISS. They can assuredly be removed by a professional watchmaker or jeweler, but I opted to keep it in original condition. If you want the rarest and most elegant Enicar on the market, or are simply looking for an affordable solid gold watch from a heritage brand, this Ultrasonic is the watch for you. It is poised to serve you stylishly and faithfully for decades to come. Thanks for looking! -DISCLAIMER- While I do a lot of research on my watches and represent them to the best of my ability, I am only an collector selling from my private collection. Therefore, I can't be held responsible for any issues that may arise after you receive the watch, and I cannot accept returns. While this Enicar has run reliably for me, it is still over 50 years old, so problems can always show up unexpectedly. If it stops right after you remove it from the box, I cannot be held responsible. That said, if you have any concerns or questions, feel free to message me! I'll answer to the best of my ability. Thank you again for looking!
