Original Enicar Memostar Alarm automatic watch with alarm in 40 mm (measured without crown) in very nice condition from around 1970.
Reference number: 298-01-01
Age of the watch: ca. 1970
Automatic watch with mechanical alarm / alarm.
Complete overhaul (movement completely disassembled) in 2018, minor movement service in 2023. The watch ran absolutely fantastic with around + / - 0 s / d and an amplitude of 280 degrees when we tested it on the time scale.
The original Omega Plexiglas is used, which is easily recognizable by the Omega logo in the center of the glass. Many components, including the base movement, were shared with the Omega Memomatic. The fitted nsa style bracelet is original Enicar. The watch has only light optical wear marks and scratches, which are mainly concentrated on the back of the watch as well as the bracelet buckle. Absolutely collectible dream condition.
The Enicar Memostar from the 1970s is something special. A truly beautiful and stunning example of a vintage watch from a small watch manufacture. What makes this watch special is the alarm function. This beautiful wrist classic comes with a near unpolished case in mint condition with sharp edges. This classic model from the 70's measures an unusually large 40mm. It features a fairly wide bezel that gives this watch a nice presence. The dial is in clean condition throughout with the original tritium luminous material. The dial features a two-tone composition with the inner circle used to set the alarm time. The simple Enicar logo next to the silver hour markers and the beautiful blue hands is harmonious and balanced. The date is normally set at 3 o'clock. The crown is original with the corresponding Enicar logo. The date can be adjusted with a quick-set pusher in the center of the two crowns. The second crown is used to set the alarm and activate the time by pushing it out. This classic watch is powered by a Lemania 2980 movement, which keeps time very well. The watch comes on an original Enicar steel bracelet with 20 mm lug width It is a real classic for the wrist with perfect proportions, timeless design and a great reference to the 70s.
Enicar was founded in 1913 by Ariste Racine-Blatt in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The name Enicar comes from the second name Racine, which is spelled backwards. Enicar produced various diving watches and chronographs, especially in the 50s and 60s. The most famous watches are the Enicar Sherpa, Sherpa Jet and the Sherpa Graph "Jim Clark" chronograph.
Have fun with this great and also very rare piece.
