Launching in 2002, De Bethune has burst onto the watchmaking scene with hi-tech materials, innovative movements and stunning avant-garde designs that have enabled them to quickly become one of the most distinctive watchmakers in the industry. Founded by THA founders Denis Flageollet and David Zanetta, the idea for De Bethune was that it would be a true watch manufacture, something De Bethune has undoubtedly achieved with their models that encompass almost every facet of horology. Offered here, we have the DB25 Power Reserve that was launched in 2005 as an entry point for collectors to step into the brand’s unique aesthetic and design language. A stunning watch that blends its age-old eponymous complication with De Bethune’s unique design DNA, it in a stunning package that is luxurious and distinctly ‘De Bethune’ in execution. Featuring an entirely polished 18kt white gold 44mm case that is 11.5mm tall, it features De Bethune’s signature skeletonized lugs that give the DB25 a wonderfully unique aesthetic on the wrist that is unmistakable as a De Bethune. Furthermore, it also features a stunning blue and silver dial that contains a blue chapter ring along its periphery that surrounds a sunken center portion that is outlined with a silver chapter ring that houses blued steel hour markers and a central blue portion that features a concentric guilloche engraving and the eponymous power reserve at 12 o’clock. Powered by an inhouse De Bethune movement, like all of their pieces, the DB25 showcases its impressive level of engineering from behind its exhibition caseback, which reflects the same impressive craftsmanship as its construction in abundance.
THE DIAL Boasting a sunken central portion along with two chapter rings, one blue and one silver, the DB25's dial features the right mix of color and attention to detail that allows it to pop in a rather unique fashion.
