She was happily married to film producer Jack Cushingham from 1962 until his death in 1985. This beautiful London made Cartier watch dates from 1966 and is engraved with her married initials DHC. Perhaps it was given to her as a gift by her new husband, but its manufacture also coincides with the release dates of several productions she featured in, including ‘The Fortune Cookie,’ ’Seconds’ and the crime drama ‘Dog Eat Dog.’ Finding 1960’s Cartier Tank watches of any kind is rare these days, but finding a London made 1966 example with the original Cartier London deployant clasp with the same gold date is even rarer as these watches were made in significantly smaller numbers. This was probably because it was at this point that the New York, Paris and London branches all split up and ran as independent businesses. This was also the moment that Cartier London, lead by Jean-Jacques Cartier, had decided to produce its own wristwatches. It wasn’t until the following year the the Cartier Crash was launched and so at this point production must have been just getting off its feet - consequently very few examples from this time exist.
