CARTIER Santos W2SA0006 Steel/Yellow Gold. Classic Cartier design, large square-face steel watch with gold bezel, blued sword hands, centre seconds, date at 6 and Roman numerals and hidden 'Cartier' signature in VII. Octagonal crown with inset cabochon spinel. Cartier quick-release steel bracelet with gold screws. Bracelet folding clasp with push-button release. Minimal signs of wear, surface scratch marks on bezel and bracelet. Purchased as pre-owned in UK, January 2023 (original purchase as new in UK, May 2018). 'Full set' offered. Priced to sell (unfortunately). The first Cartier wristwatch design, originally designed by Louis Cartier in 1904 for his Brazilian friend, aviator Alberto Santos Dumont, to wear while flying - he needed both hands to fly so a pocket watch was impractical.
