Cartier's Baignoire is yet another example of why the brand is known for its mastery of shapes in watchmaking. It's a watchmaker that puts romance and creativity ahead of anything necessarily practical, and that's led to beautiful designs. The name literally means "Bathtub" - a slightly bizarre inspiration for such an elegant watch, but shows how out-of-the-box Cartier's designers were during this era. Even the traditional Roman numerals are stretched to fit the shape of the case and dial.
The Baignoire doesn't have the cachet of the Crash or Asymetrique, but is undeniably cut from the same creative cloth. The Baignoire was first created in the 1960s by Cartier London, and was later produced by its New York maison.
