Princess Caroline Murat, who became Queen of Naples during the Napoleonic empire, was an admirer of Breguet. She commissioned the first wristwatch in history. Back then, the watchmaker requested 5.000 francs for the timekeeper. In the archives, it appears as an 'oblong repetition for a bracelet'. Over two years were required to finish this avant-gardist masterpiece. It was completed on dec. 21, 1812. Through the contemporary version we are presenting, Breguet honors this landmark of watchmaking history.
