Audemars Piguet Platinum Quantieme Perpetual Ref. 25657

Introduced in 1978, the Quantieme Perpetual was an extraordinary achievement in watchmaking. At the time it was released, it reigned as the world's thinnest, self-winding perpetual calendar. The movement was used in only a handful of models by Audemars Piguet, most notably, the Royal Oak. Made of white gold, the 'Tuscan' blue dial is one of the rarest and most sought-after variations. The details in the finish are absolutely superb. This example features a solid caseback with rounded detail around the edge- characteristic of the latter series of productions of the Ref. 25657. This series is prior to Audemars Piguet introducing a clear exhibition back on the Quantieme Perpetual models. This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging.
