Launched in 2023, the selfwinding Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT Large Date brings this classic complication – one of the most complex to assemble and adjust – back to the fore with a futuristic aesthetic and a cutting-edge movement geared for performance. This high-tech timepiece is the second single split-seconds chronograph wristwatch ever created by Audemars Piguet and is deemed a state of the art with its newly developed self-winding calibre 4407.
The intricate split-seconds mechanism has been integrated into the thickness of the oscillating weight, making it visible on the caseback side – a first in the history of selfwinding watches. The watch offers two other practical functions: a GMT day/night indicator and a large date. This unique timepiece is crafted with an ultra-contemporary case that will fit seamlessly on any wrist with a symmetrical dial and all the different finishes that create the subtle contrasts.
Last but not least, for a change of look, the black rubber strap can be replaced with an included grey rubber strap (yellow or red rubber straps are available and supplied separately). A remarkable easy quick click and release interchangeable system ideal for instantaneous change of the strap.
