Introduced in 1972, the revolutionary Royal Oak collection by Audemar Piguet became an instant classic among discerning collectors. The watchmaker brought a luxury steel watch to the forefront with a design that was far ahead of its time. The timepiece became a major success and is a legend in the horological space. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 50th Anniversary is of “Jumbo” size and is an ode to the one and only Royal Oak 5402 crafted in 1972. Featuring a steel case with a gorgues ice blue dial adorning a Grande Tapisserie pattern, and octagonal bezel set with diamonds, the piece is completed with a rivetting integrated bracelet with an AP folding clasp. It marks the collection’s 50th anniversary in true artistic and sophisticated style.
The Royal Oak’s 50th Anniversary self-winding movement is new, with a Calibre 5900, featuring 29 jewels, and a power reserve of 60 hours. It is complemented by a rhodium-glazed “50-years” weight that oscillates, adding to the anniversary charm, available this year only with that 50th Anniversary configuration.
