Abercrombie and Fitch “Shipmate” circa 1940’s
A scarce Abercrombie and Fitch stainless steel “Shipmate” model circa 1940’s. Featuring a 28mm screw back case with sloped extended lugs. With very pleasing original 2 tone silver satin dial with full Arabic numeral radium indexes and wide pencil style luminous hands. At some point many years ago, as seen by the dial, this watch seems to have gone through a battle with some water. The dial shows off some impressive caramel patina, giving an already impressive looking watch, just a touch more to look at. Powered by 17 jewel bumper wound AS 1081 caliber with subsidiary seconds. The dial is bright and lively and has a great vintage appearance. Recently serviced and offered on your choice of sporty or fine leather strap.
Your purchase of this watch will be accompanied by one of our popular fine Italian glazed leather pouches, ideal for travel and storage, a $45 value.
