LANGE＆SOHNE is famous as the top manufacturer of German watches.
Its founder is Adolf Lange, a great 19th century man who is also famous for making Glashütte a major watchmaking center.
Since its revival in 1990, the company has continued to produce pieces that exude beauty and craftsmanship as a manufacturer on par with Patek Philippe.
The company's proud representative model is the Lange 1, which was launched in 1994.
It is also famous for its design calculated using the golden ratio, and features an off-center time display and an outsized date.
The Lange 1 will undergo a minor change in 2015 due to a change in movement, but this is a model before the minor change that is equipped with the conventional movement.
That change changes the appearance of the back, and therefore the appearance of the movement.
Those who prefer a design with the conventional type's ``chiraneji'' or ``divided island bridge'' may find this conventional type Lange 1 attractive.
