In appearance, the A. Lange & Söhne Up/Down watch bears a strong similarity to the chronograph model from the same 1815 collection. In fact, the Up/Down is not a chronograph at all—the subdials are for small seconds and power reserve, with the power reserve giving the watch its name. This brand new version is radically different to previous Up/Downs from Lange, at least on the inside. The L051.2 movement has a distinct architecture, with an enlarged mainspring that provides a whopping 72 hours of power. It also shows more of the mechanism, so you can see the wheels turning when you wind the crown. Combined with the sleek, refined exterior, including Lange's signature blued steel hands and 39mm rose gold case, this makes the Up/Down a collector’s favourite.
