The reference 1803, produced from the early 1960s to around 1978, marked a refined stage in Rolex’s flagship “President” line . It displays the iconic pie-pan dial, signature fluted bezel, and a case manufactured with precious metals. This watch has an 18k pink gold 35.8 mm case, measured without counting its original crown. The case is in very good condition, with only light wear typical of careful use. The screw-down caseback fits securely and bears correct reference a number. The plexyglass crystal shows minimal traces of age-related wear. The original champagne-brown dial has the day window at 12 o’clock and a date aperture at 3, magnified by the Cyclops lens. Applied baton hour markers and minute indexes and graphics are crisp. There is a very small – barely visible - oxidation ring around the tritium markers on the dial edge, Patina is minimal, with uniform coloration and no visible spots or fading, the dial is in an overall excellent condition and it has a stunning mustard tone which well matches the pink gold case Inside, the movement is the Rolex caliber 1556—a certified chronometer introduced around 1965. It elevated its predecessor’s 18,000 vph rate to 19,800 vph, improving shock resistance, This 26-jewel movement has a Micro-Stella balance, and a 48-hour power reserve and the classic non-quickset day-date mechanism This watch is completed with a suede strap and its Rolex clasp.
