The Omega Seamaster 300 released in 1957 was in the words of an advertisement for the watch, “specially designed for professional and amateur divers.” Its water resistance was guaranteed to a depth of 200 metres. The watch was known as the 300 because its performance was far beyond the capacities of the testing devices of the time, a result of the high resistance of the crystal and the crown. The Omega 300’s rotating bezel made it possible for divers to keep track of the exact time of the duration of their dives. This version of the infamous diver, reference 2532.80.00 comes set in the classic 41mm stainless steel case with a polished uni-rotational bezel with contrasting blue dive graduations. The matching blue dial features the classic embossed ‘wave’ pattern, luminous round hour markers and hand tips, as well as the date feature at 3 o’clock. Protected by a domed sapphire crystal glass and fitted with a screw-down crown and helium release valve, allowing for a water resistance of 30atm (300m/1000ft). The watch is powered by the automatic calibre 1120 chronometer movement which is protected by a solid caseback featuring the hippocampus logo. Lastly, it is completed by a brushed/polished Seamaster bracelet with classic dive extension clasp. This Seamaster was originally sold in September 1996 and is in mint condition with very minor wear present on the bezel. Supplied with an Omega service box, instruction booklet, service centre booklet, red leatherette booklet holder, chronometer certificate and original international warranty card.
